A general view of the use of
Recording Software on education

Audio in Education
In this entry I want to emphasize the use of Recording Software in Education; now, let me start by telling that audio plays a special roll on education, basically because since we were babies the sound is an elemental factor on our education; for example, since radio was invented around 1890 people uses it for educational purposes because it is wireless, you can learn by listen to it and nowadays there are so many stations that are meant just to broadcast educational programs; therefore the sound is very important on the educational process and I’m not going to go further on this entry, I will just give you the basics in order for you to have a solid foundation for the use of the podcast; however if you want to learn more about how to use audio in education and mix it with video I’m going to leave you this link here http://www.atit.be/dwnld/VideoAktiv_Handbook_fin.pdf. It might be useful for you if you want to get involved with the video podcasts.Recording software
Before the first cassette recorder were launched by Phillips on the middle of the 70’s people used to buy vinyl discs and it was kind of awkward to use them for educational purposes but when the vinyl disc was replaced by the cassette recorder people realized that they could actually use it to record things and implement them into the educational plans, but it was until the end of the 90’s that people started to use recording softwares and burn cd’s. Now after almost a decade after the second millennium, computers have evolved, recording has evolved and education technology has evolved, Podcast is now a helpful tool to complement educational programs and to make programs and we are harvesting all fruits of that. This is an article that I found on

Podcast Software
By Juan Gigli 18/08/2006
Here you will find a list of recording software for podcasting. Some of this programs and services are for free, although the most of them requires a little fee in order to download them. In general; the prize is not a big matter to worry about, but it increases as you want to fulfill your professional needs and requirements. The first option for every podcaster that’s just beginning is without a doubt Audacity (in this case we are going to use the cool edit pro which is very related, has all the characteristics of Audacity and is easier for you to use and to download). This is multi platform software, wide enough to record and edit the sound. Then, we can also use Easy Podcast (it is also a multi platform) in order to create the sound file and upload it to our blog.On the Window’s environment there exist an endless quantity of recording software’s and administrators for our pod cast. Nonetheless, not all of them are for free.
Between the averages prized software we can find the ePodcast Creator and the ePodcast Producer. The first one aloud us to create and upload our podcast to a server, while the second is an advanced solution that includes compatibility with Real Audio and a Cd Ripper integrated on the software. Other solutions with similar characteristics are the MixCast Live, Propaganda and Webpod Studio.
There are many applications to build the feed RSS that we need for the listeners to subscribe to the pod cast. Here are some examples; FeedForAll, Free Podcast Maker, Podifier, Synclosure and Webmaster Podcaster.
Escapepodder is another software that can generate automatically a feed RSS and the HTML code with the contents of a directory of MP3 files that we should indicate.
There are also plenty kinds of software for Mac and also a lot of resources online that will help you on your way to create a pod cast.
